Both The Kin and The Cairn are fully self-catering, with well-equipped kitchens featuring an electric oven, induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. You’ll also find cooking essentials such as oil, salt and pepper, as well as tea, coffee capsules, sugar and marshmallows.

For added comfort and convenience, robes, towels, a hairdryer and yoga mats are provided, along with premium Laura Thomas Co shower wash and body lotion.

Our outdoor wellness facilities are shared between The Kin and The Cairn. Guests have access to the hot tub, sauna, cold plunge and bucket shower, alongside a log fire - all surrounded by peaceful views across the farm and fields.

Despite the peaceful rural setting, there is plenty to see and do nearby. We’re perfectly placed for discovering some of the best of Angus and the surrounding area, with Glamis Castle among the incredible attractions close by, as well as beautiful countryside, walks, local towns, places to eat and plenty to explore.

For those who love the outdoors, you’ll also find fantastic bike tracks and cycling routes nearby, ranging from gentle scenic rides through farmland and glens to more challenging off-road trails. In warmer months, the area is ideal for open-water swimming, with lochs and wild-swimming spots within easy reach. You’re also just a short drive from the coast, where you’ll find beautiful sandy beaches perfect for long walks, sea air and sunset views.

Fishing enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunities nearby, with scenic rivers, lochs and well-stocked fisheries offering options for both experienced anglers and complete beginners. Whether you fancy a peaceful day of trout fishing or casting a line in one of the area’s beautiful natural settings, there are several local spots to explore. Please check local access, permit and seasonal requirements before fishing.

In winter, the adventure continues at Glenshee Ski Centre, Scotland’s largest ski area, offering skiing, snowboarding and stunning mountain scenery.

Fancy something a little different? Our friends at SnoutAbout, just 20 minutes away, offer a wonderfully unique piggie experience day out. Enjoy a memorable pig-walking experience in beautiful woodland just outside Dundee.

We know a countryside escape is even better when your dog can come too.

Our cabins are dog-friendly for one well-behaved dog per stay. With a working farm, horses and other animals nearby, we kindly ask that dogs are kept on a lead around the farm and cabin grounds at all times.

We also ask that dogs are kept off the furniture and beds, and that owners clean up after them during their stay.

With plenty of beautiful countryside walks to discover nearby, there’ll be no shortage of adventures for four-legged guests too.

Yes. A supply of logs, kindling and fire lighters are provided for you to enjoy the log burner and firepit during your stay. More are available at a small charge.

Our cabins are single-storey and designed with ease of access in mind. There is ramp access but please note there is a small step up to the bedroom area. Due to the rural setting and some areas of uneven ground, gravel and steps, they may not be suitable for every guest with limited mobility.

If you have specific accessibility requirements, please get in touch before booking. We’ll be very happy to talk you through each cabin and facilities so you can decide whether Newmill is suitable for your stay.

Our cabins have been designed as a peaceful retreat for adults and are therefore not suitable for children. However, babies in arms are very welcome.
